Attendees choose winners at MOD ’09 in Las Vegas on March 24 together with Derek Gentile, CEO EEI Global, Armen Gharabegian, CEO Ethos Design/Lounge22, and Mitchell Mauk, Founder of Mauk Design.

LAS VEGAS, Nevada – March 24, 2009 – MOD ’09, The Portable Modular Event, and The 2009 MOD Awards, hosted by well-known Hollywood celeb Leeza Gibbons announced the winners of the 2009 MOD Awards at the Four Seasons in Las Vegas.

The Mod Awards, dedicated to recognizing and honoring best-in-class portable modular exhibit design, presented trade show and event professionals with the very best in modular design. Reconfigurable, recyclable and economical, modular exhibits are becoming hotter than ever as exhibit and event companies are increasingly looking to improve their clients’ bottom line along with the environment.

Co-produced by Abex and Event Design Magazine, and sponsored by Octanorm USA , Tradeshow Week, and Exhibit City News, to name a few, MOD ’09 has brought exhibit and event industry leaders together to see and learn about the trends driving portable modular and celebrate the best of modular design at CloseUp, the After Party.

This year’s number of entries received was the program’s largest ever, and the judges proclaimed that the designs were “the best they’ve seen” since the MOD Awards debuted in 2007. The winners were selected by the audience of over 200 exhibit and event professionals along with an all-star cast of judges (famed designers Mitchell Mauk of Mauk Design and Armen Gharabegian of Ethos Design and Lounge 22 along with globally respected exhibit house chief Derek Gentile of EEI Global), utilizing Padgett Instant Audience Response Systems technology.

The judges and audience chose the winners from two finalists in each category selected by the Editors of Event Design Magazine. In addition, the audience defined the prestigious Best of MOD from the category winners. The winner of the 2009 Best of MOD award is Inter-Global Exhibitions with their Toyota/Drive Communications project.
